Upper Secondary School (SMA)

Al Lathif upper Secondary School marks the pinnacle of an inspiring educational journey, serving as a vessel for the growth of critical thinking and the development of sustainable leadership. Here, we believe that true excellence encompasses more than just knowledge; it is also about the students' ability to face challenges, respond to change, and become responsible future leaders.

In Al Lathif, education is not merely an academic process, but a journey towards self-improvement and the attainment of excellence. Upholding the principle that Islamic and Quranic education should be a lifestyle, the school bears the responsibility of shaping a superior generation that will restore the glory of Islam.

Integrated Leadership and Entrepreneurship

Leadership and entrepreneurship are of utmost importance in the modern world, and AIS supports the development of these abilities from an early age. Through integrated education, we aim to create future leaders who are not only strong and creative, but also possess noble character. Students are taught and guided by Muslim entrepreneurs to develop their leadership and entrepreneurial potential.

Language of Instruction

In the learning process, English is used as the language of instruction to open up students' access to the global world. Nevertheless, we recognize the importance of maintaining Indonesian and Arabic languages. Arabic language learning is not only for understanding the Quran but also to facilitate communication with scholars.

Potential to Achieve

AIS Secondary School provides facilities and support to encourage students to achieve excellence. Through various extracurricular activities, students are encouraged to try and hone their potential, such as martial arts, swimming, archery, as well as membership in OSIS and Pramuka as a forum for developing organizational skills.

Boarding School Program

Students who live in the dormitory will follow the boarding school program to further study Islamic education. The boarding school program is held after Maghrib prayer until nine at night and also after Subuh prayer. Qiyamul lail is held from 3:00 AM as an important part of the students' daily activities.

Curriculum Overview

SMA Al Lathif, part of Al Lathif Islamic International School, carries a vision and mission that upholds educational excellence by embracing international standards. Through a combination of three superior curriculums, namely Cambridge, Tahfidz Qur'an, and National, we shape a Qur'anic Generation with noble character and a global perspective.

IN-DEPTH ISLAMIC EDUCATION

At the secondary school level, our students learn Islamic Education in general and in depth. The books of the scholars, such as Tafsir Ibnu Katsir, Fathul Qorib, Riyadhus Shalihin, Alfiyyah and Fathul Bari, are the learning guidelines that are guided by competent ustadz and sheikhs. The application of knowledge both for oneself and for da'wah to the community is the main emphasis in the educational process at SMA Al Lathif.

TAHFIDZ AL QUR'AN

Every day, Tahfidz Qur'an activities are carried out to familiarize students with the Al Qur'an. From morning to night, students are invited to love the Al Qur'an more and more. With the guidance of ustadz or parents, students memorize the talaqqi method. The target is to reach 30 juz in class XII, with exams and Sanad Al Qur'an certificates as awards for achievement.

INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM (Cambridge AS & A Level)

At the SMA level (grades 10-12), AIS uses the Cambridge International AS & A Level curriculum. This high school level curriculum also AIS adopts three subjects, namely Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology), and English. Cambridge International AS & A Level is used to develop learners' knowledge, understanding, and skills in:

  • In-depth mastery of subject matter
  • Independent thinking
  • Applying knowledge and understanding to new situations
  • Handling and evaluating various types of information sources
  • Thinking logically and presenting organized and coherent arguments
  • Making judgments, recommendations and decisions
  • Presenting reasoned explanations
  • Understanding implications and communicating them logically and clearly
